For Sandy Donald, going viral on TikTok started with a toddler’s logic and ended with life-changing gender-affirming surgery.
Donald, a transgender mother known on TikTok as @beateasy, has amassed a following through her recurring character “Toddler Carlson,” a satirical take on conservative commentator Tucker Carlson that swaps right-wing talking points for the irrational reasoning of a young child. Inspired in part by her own toddler, the series uses Carlson’s signature cadence and rhetorical style to highlight the absurdity behind many of his political arguments.

Rather than impersonating Carlson directly, Donald places his familiar style into everyday parenting scenarios. In one video, Toddler Carlson complains that being told not to eat rocks is somehow evidence of government overreach.
“My mommy says I can’t pick up rocks from the ground and put them in my mouth,” she says in Carlson’s unmistakable rhythm. “Huh. That’s the rule now. That’s the goal. What are we doing? What’s going on?”
Another video questions the childhood game peekaboo, sarcastically describing it as a game that teaches children to accept deception as reality before concluding, “Sorry, kids, Mommy’s gone forever. Oh wait, no, now she’s back somehow.”
The series has resonated with viewers by blending political satire with relatable parenting humor, while also borrowing familiar catchphrases popularized in comedian Jeremy Culhane’s Tucker Carlson impressions.
But the viral success became much more than internet entertainment.
Earlier this summer, Donald revealed she was preparing for facial feminization surgery, a gender-affirming procedure that was not covered by her insurance. She asked viewers who had enjoyed her videos to consider donating to her GoFundMe to help cover the cost.
The response exceeded expectations.
Following the surgery, Donald continued posting videos documenting her recovery. Over the weekend, she returned to her Toddler Carlson character to poke fun at the barriers transgender people face when seeking medically necessary care.
“Leftist woke America wants trans women to get surgery so that their appearance aligns more with their identity,” Toddler Carlson says before delivering another tongue-in-cheek punchline. “Apparently if you get certain procedures done, you’ll get misgendered less. That’s the rule now. That’s the goal.”
She then shifts the joke toward a much more serious reality.
“What they don’t tell you is that these procedures are not covered by your insurance. What are we doing here? What’s going on?”
In the caption accompanying the video, Donald thanked the thousands of supporters who helped make her surgery possible.
“Thank you to everyone who donated and continues to donate to my surgery fund,” she wrote. “This has been life-changing.”
What began as a clever parody of one of conservative media’s most recognizable voices ultimately became something far more meaningful—an online community helping a transgender creator access gender-affirming care that otherwise would have remained out of reach.
