Dear Readers,
Welcome to this year’s edition of Queering Mental Health, a publication crafted with the aim of equipping you with tools, resources, and inspiration to enhance your well-being. Our ultimate goal is to see every member of our vibrant and beautiful community not just survive, but truly thrive.
In the following pages, you will meet dedicated advocates for our community, including the Caring for Denver Foundation and WellPower CEO Carl Clark, M.D. We delve into the launch of You:Flourish, a newly introduced wellness platform tailored to bolster the mental health of queer individuals, and explore the impact of Q is for Questioning, an educational initiative fostering affirming environments for LGBTQ+ youth. Discover the significance of community-building, particularly for individuals navigating recovery from substance use disorders like myself. Uncover resources aimed at supporting your mental wellbeing and gain insights into Envision:You’s impact and recent merger with Mental Health Colorado.
Amidst the political polarization in the United States and the regrettable demonization of our community, we have the ability to cultivate spaces of safety and joy among ourselves. Let’s unite on this journey toward holistic well-being, fortified with knowledge, solidarity, and resilience.
Warm regards for your journey to wellness,
Steven Haden (he/him)
