Chroma Wellness Center to Open in Denver September 23

Chroma Wellness Center is a new LGBTQ+-focused outpatient facility set to open later this month in Denver, alongside a sober living home. It is Denver’s first LGBTQ+ mental health and addiction treatment program. Chroma Wellness Center was born out of a desire by founder and CEO Ryan Sturdevant to address the significant gaps in mental health and addiction services for the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.

Chroma Wellness is a trailblazer—It is one of the few programs in the country offering primary mental healthcare exclusively for the LGBTQ+ community! Their services combine evidence-based therapy, long-term outpatient recovery, and holistic wellness with LGBTQ+-supportive housing.

Chroma is focused on providing services to individuals who are: looking for therapy and mental health counseling that is trauma-informed and LGBTQ+ affirming, looking for safe, supportive housing during recovery or transition, and those interested in holistic wellness services (somatic therapy, yoga, or artistic expression).

Master’s-level clinicians administer therapy for bipolar disorder, PTSD, body image issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, grief, and other mental health issues, using evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. All of these services have a specific focus on LGBTQ+ mental health.

Chroma Wellness also offers gender identity exploration with therapists experienced in gender-expansive care, providing a safe space to explore identity, transition, and self-expression. They provide letters for HRT and gender affirming surgery that address the intersection of substance use, sexual health, mental health, and relationships, helping clients recognize patterns, reduce harm, process emotions, and build healthier coping and intimacy skills. Chroma Wellness offers one-on-one therapy, as well as peer recovery circles and chosen family therapy, all in a safe and affirming environment.

The grand opening of Chroma Wellness is Tuesday, September 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 1650 South Colorado Blvd., Suite 300, Denver.
