Big Freedia, known as the iconic queen of New Orleans bounce, is back with another hit single by the name of “$100 Bill.” The single was released on April 28, and it came out with a bang! The song features Ciara and both artists make an electrifying partnership together. With Big Freedia and Ciara on the same track, “$100 Bill” exudes a confident and vibrant energy that is sure to get you on your feet.
This isn’t the duo’s first time working together. They partnered up on “Winning,” which Ciara performed on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. With this new single, it’s safe to say that Big Freedia and Ciara make an amazing team.
“The first time I heard this song, I thought the melodies were infectious. But also, even before that, Freedia and I have had such an amazing chemistry since we met, we both talked about working together. I asked Freedia to join my song ‘Winning,’ and we definitely had winning energy on that record, and I feel like that energy has continued on ‘$100 Bill.’ The record is melodic; it’s a song for everyone from little kids to the grandmas; it just makes you feel joy,” says Ciara.
“$100 Bill” is the perfect song to listen to when you need a reminder of who you are. It’s as if Big Freedia is hyping you up herself. The song has a high-energy beat with a relaxed and self-assured vibe to it that will make anyone what to get up and shake their ass. “’$100 Bill’ is about feelin’ like new money hot off the press! Big money! Feelin fresh and extra fabulous, but mostly about feeling good in your own skin. Owning your walk, your talk, your scent, your ride, anything that makes you feel like your best self,” says Big Freedia.
“$100 Bill” is accompanied by “Central City Freestyle,” which will definitely be a club anthem with its high-energy beat urging listeners to drop everything and twerk. These singles are just a sneak peek at what Big Freedia has in the works. She is currently touring all over the country and has been working on a remix of “Hey, Queen” for Netflix’s Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
She recently became the first bounce artist to perform with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. Big Freedia is also coming back to reality TV with Big Freedia Means Business on Fuse this summer. Summer is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to see what else Big Freedia has up her sleeve.
