Welcome to August, and welcome back to Pride! While most Pride celebrations are held in June, this month, we’re covering Aurora Pride in our August edition, which takes place on August 30 at Fletcher Plaza in Aurora.
With the celebration of a somewhat smaller-town Pride festival that stands as an alternative to Denver’s PrideFest, we explore our theme for this issue: We belong everywhere. It’s a reminder that, from the busiest city in the country to the most rural area, queers belong. And, helping us with that reminder is legendary LGBTQ+ ally and upcoming Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee Cyndi Lauper, who graces our cover ahead of her August 12 performance at Fiddler’s Green for her Farewell Tour. So dive into August before the summer is all gone.
