The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association (ILGA) of Europe has released its annual Rainbow Map and LGBTQ+ rights index. Spain has taken the spot from Malta, which held the number-one spot for 10 years. Malta was able to hold onto the number-one spot for a decade because of progressive government legislation and diminished political influence from the Catholic Church.
