Taylor Swift Eras Tour Features Queer Artists

Eras tour

Swifties, 2023 is your time! Taylor Swift is going on her Eras tour, something she shared on Twitter, along with the caption, “I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the U.S. with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!”

This tour is being opened by a star-studded opening lineup, including many queer artists. Among these artists is Girl In Red, a Norweigan singer-songwriter known for many beautiful songs, among which is i wanna be your girlfriend, a sapphic ballad describing what it feels like to be in love with your best friend; Pheobe Bridgers, known for Motion Sickness, a song about love lost and hurting for the nostalgia of how it started; Haim, best known for their song The Wire, a rollicking song about falling out of love with someone; and Gracie Abrams, known for I Miss You, I’m Sorry, a powerful song about what sounds like an attachment to a toxic relationship. Of course, art has many  interpretations.

Taylor swift posted that she is “Feeling like the luckiest person alive to get to take these brilliant artists out on tour (with her.)”

Other artists joining the tour include Paramore, Muna, Beabadoobee Gayle, and Owenn. This tour will take audiences through Taylor Swift’s career, which she started as a country artist and went on to become one of the biggest pop stars with hits such as You Belong With Me, Look What You Made Me Do, Blank Space, and Shake It Off. Swift’s discography is vast and varied; therefore, along with the amazing opening artists, this show is bound to be an amazing experience.

The show will start in 2023 and span across the United States.
