Meow Wolf‘s Convergence Station in Denver has already become a community staple, and now the immersive art exhibition is looking ahead to next month and celebrating Pride with the Mile High City’s LGBTQ community.
Meow Wolf Denver will host two official Pride events and will also be out in the community participating in Denver PrideFest.
To kick off Pride Month, Indie 102.3’s LGBTQ show, Serve It, is hosting a bash at Convergence Station on June 1. Indie 102.3 is a listener-supported Colorado radio station from Colorado Public Radio, taking listeners inside the world of new and independent music and exposing them to new and up-and-coming artists in the local scene.
The festivities begin at 8 p.m., featuring live music from Wheelchair Sports Camp, Destino, a DJ set by Kori Hazel, and a drag performance by Mikki Miraj.
Check out the official Meow Wolf event page for more information and tickets.
Get ready for a fabulous night of competition and dance on June 11 with the Nintendo KiKi Ball, hosted by House of Flora. Different houses will work it to compete in several different categories, aiming to slay the competition and take home a number of available prizes. Most notably, each category has a grand prize of $500.
The House of Flora is based in Portland, Oregon, established in 2016 by Passa Flora and since expanding to Denver in 2018 under the direction of Valentino Valentine, aka Mother Flora. As the mother of The House of Flora, they’ve shown their tenacity to spread awareness and guidance to members of the Black, Latinx, and LGBTQ communities.
For more information and tickets, check out the official Meow Wolf event page.
Aside from the two venue events, you’ll also find Meow Wolf out and about at Denver PrideFest this June. Meow Wolf is a sponsor of the 5K race, will host an alien-run newsstand, and employees will also march in the parade on June 26.
It’s only a couple weeks away, but we cannot wait for the collection of queer happenings next month! Hope to see y’all there!
