Jeffree Star Defends Charlie Kirk’s Transphobia

In a TikTok Live, disgraced internet micro-celebrity Jeffree Star defended Charlie Kirk’s offensive views about the trans community. Kirk, a right-wing political commentator, has been the subject of much conversation after he was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University.

According to Out, in the TikTok live, Star claimed that although he doesn’t label himself as a Republican, he was “standing up for someone who passed away.” After this, someone in the chat asserted that they were unfollowing because of that, and Star replied, “Thank god, if you believe in they/thems, you’re part of the problem. Be whoever you want to be, but there’s science, and there’s facts. You can pretend in your head you’re a cat … you’re still only A or B.”

When he was alive, Kirk echoed these beliefs. In 2023, he called for “men to handle” transgender people “the way they did in the 50s and 60s,” suggesting that trans people should be beaten, arrested, and likely wishing death on them.

Star continued ranting, justifying Kirk by saying he was “just a man who was going around the country debating people,” Star continued with, “you are delusional and mentally ill if you go against what I just said. I didn’t share my opinion; I shared facts.”

Despite being someone who built his career off of being LGBTQ+ and gender-nonconforming, Star justifies this by saying, “Yes, I am a grown-ass man that wears makeup; I will always be a male. My name is Jeffree … All of these grown men going into women’s bathroom wearing wigs, you should all be in prison forever.”

Star has been the subject of much controversy since his forgettable music career in the early 2000s, displaying blatantly racist behavior—once “joking” about throwing battery acid on a woman to lighten her skin. Additionally, he’s been recorded on several occasions saying the n-word.
