Dolly Parton and Nina West: ‘Kindness is Queen’ Merch Collab

Two iconic queens are collaborating on sweet ’70s vibe merch with the proceeds going to charity.

Country music legend Dolly Parton and Columbus-based drag queen Nina West are partnering in an effort to support kindness and hope. The ‘Kindness is Queen’ campaign will benefit Parton’s Imagination Library and The Nina West Foundation.

The Imagination Library is a book-gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until they begin school, no matter their family’s income.

The Nina West Foundation supports organizations that benefit and service LGBTQIA+ youth and families.

On Wednesday, country music superstar Dolly Parton and RuPaul’s Drag Race favorite Nina West released “Kindness is Queen,” a limited-edition collab by the fabulous duo.

The collection includes a matching, retro T-shirt, enamel pin, and tote bag. Each of the queens will be splitting the proceeds to donate to their respective charities.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11 contestant Nina West Parton’s funds will be given to her Imagination Library, which has mailed more than 138 million books to children. West, AKA Andrew Levitt from Columbus, Ohio, will be donating to Nina West Foundation, a nonprofit that supports organizations and services that help LGBTQ youth and families.

The two crossed paths on the season finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race in May. West, who was crowned Miss Congeniality on last year’s season, bestowed the honor upon her successor. Parton made a surprise guest appearance via video in a full drag getup. She joked that she was actually actor Leslie Jordan, another East Tennessee celebrity.

“Dolly is the ultimate queen of kindness, and I am so thrilled that she agreed to this collaboration,” West said in a release. “We both want to spread the message that Kindness is Queen, and that being kind is something that is desperately needed in our world right now.”
