Bob the Drag Queen Broadway Debut on the Way

Nonbinary drag queen, actor, comedian, and New York Times Best-Selling author Bob the Drag Queen (he/she) will make his Broadway debut in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Moulin Rouge! The Musical as the character Harold Zidler, owner of the Moulin Rouge nightclub and brothel in the musical. Look for it coming to the stage soon.

Moulin Rouge!, based on a major feature film released in 2001, opened on Broadway in 2019 following a Boston tryout. The musical was nominated for 14 Tony Awards in 2020, and it won 10, including Best Musical.

Caldwell Tidicue, better known as Bob the Drag Queen, is notable for claiming the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” on Season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2016. According to his website’s about section, we can “blame Bob’s mother for his unabashed confidence.” He is also recognized for his multiple acting roles, spanning various networks, including HBO (We’re Here), Netflix (Cherry Pop), MTV (Drag My Dad), and VH1 (RuPaul’s Drag Race). His about section continues with Tiduice being “the most proud” of his debut novel, Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert, which was released this year and became an instant New York Times Bestseller. He also has a popular comedy special, Woke Man in a Dress.

Playbill has a statement from Bob regarding his passion for Broadway and achieving the role in the musical, where he says, “Being on Broadway has always been a dream of mine. I moved to NYC almost 17 years ago to pursue it. Some roads take a while.”

Bob the Drag Queen will appear in Moulin Rouge! The Musical as Harold Zidler during the eight-week run from January 26 through March 22, 2026. Tickets are available now on the official musical site if you want to watch the queen slay on Broadway.
