Black Pride’s Fantasy Weekend is Near!

Black Pride’s Fantasy Weekend is Near!

Black Pride Colorado is spoiling us again with jaw-dropping drag performances! The ‘Black Pride Fantasy’ weekend is near and focuses on celebrating LGBTQ ballroom culture. For the Pose lovers out there, just imagine that, but it’s your reality, baby—gorgeous kings and queens giving their all right in front of you!

The series of Black Pride events blessing all of us around Colorado this fall kicked off September 12, with the Majestic Melanated Cabaret Show at Blush & Blu. The event served as a fundraiser for Black Pride Colorado, with stunning cabaret performances by Kendra D Crase and Porsha Demarco Douglas, to honor and celebrate Black and Brown culture.

This Saturday, September 25, at X Bar, Felony Misdemeanor, and Black Pride Colorado will be presenting Black Magic with THE VIXEN. I’m not sure about you, but OFM can’t wait to see Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 10 queen The Vixen take the stage by storm to leave us spellbound.

Now for the main events: the Black Fantasy Weekend with Black Pride Colorado! The Black Fantasy Summit presented by Moonlight and Xango Alain Mikli will be held Saturday, October 2 at Rocky Mountain PBS. This FREE event will be a workshop dedicated to learning about the history and healing of ballroom culture.

The schedule list is as follows: from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., there will be ‘Community healing Ballroom Edition,’ and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., icon Michael Roberson Maison-Margiela will be giving us a look into the history of Ballroom culture and the Pride movement and will present The Trans Sounds of Black Freedom Union. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Pioneer William Xavier 007 will be bringing ball categories and other cool elements to the event.

Moonlight and Xango Alain Mikli will also be hosting The Black Fantasy Ball later in the evening on Saturday, October, 2. The Ball will be featuring a plethora of categories to perform in and to shine like royalty—and win some cash along the way—with categories like Drag Realness, Afro-Punk, Sex Siren, Catboy just to name a few!

To end off the weekend, be sure to hit up the Triangle bar Sunday morning, October, 3; Black Pride and your girls Moonlight and Xango Alain Mikli present you a fierce Black Fantasy Brunch.
