Zombies takeover Downtown
The apocalypse is coming to Denver. A very slow walking, boozy apocalypse, but scary nonetheless.
This Saturday the 10th annual Denver Zombie Crawl, one of the largest in the nation, is bringing people of all ages into the afterlife and congregating them into Skyline Park.
This year, the living-dead are invited to a full day of zombie filled activities, starting with the Organ Trail at 9am which will put participants in a foot race against one another in Downtown in a part Amazing Race, part Fear Factor, part haunted house scavenger hunt. Zombie hordes will solve clues in order to identify locations in downtown Denver where they will complete checkpoints. The zombies with the fastest legs and semi-functional brains will walk away with a $300 cash prize.
At noon, people will be around to help with zombie make up and costume help, to get all in the party spirit, and the festival begins with DJs, bands, games and plenty of ghoulish times. The Zombie Crawl parade, on 16th Street Mall, begins at 4pm, followed by the costume contest at 5:30pm.
After 6pm, don’t run away frightened, stick around for the after parties, because zombies never sleep.
You might be dressed for the grave, but the Zombie Crawl is sure to breathe life back into you.
