Victory for the Colorado State Senate

Despite being long-heralded by Democrats, echoed by the establishment media, and predicted by pollsters, the anticipated blue tsunami wave came up short. Yes, Joe Biden did win the presidency and several Democrats either won or were reelected to office, but there was still a missed opportunity.
Here in Colorado, we are going to take what we can get, and the Colorado State Senate is looking forward to seeing some new and familiar faces.
Chris Kolker (D-Centennial) was elected and flipped the 27th District from red to blue.
“First and foremost, I want to thank my tireless staff, volunteers, donors and, most importantly, my wife Tara for dedicating so much time and talent in this race over the last year,” he said. “It has been such an honor getting to know and speak with the people of SD 27 over the past few years. I look forward to continuing those valuable conversations and using them to guide me as I legislate next year. I will advocate for our public schools and for access to mental health care, and I will lead Colorado into a strong recovery from the pandemic.”
Senator Rachel Zenzinger (D-Arvada) won reelection and is looking forward to a second term.
“I wish to thank everyone who supported this campaign with their time, talents, finances, and other resources,” she said. “The constant words of encouragement were invaluable. It seems the voters of Senate District 19 grew more knowledgeable about the political landscape in the early stages of this election, and I am grateful to those voters who took the time to research the issues. In this campaign, we repeatedly emphasized my record of collaboration, accessibility, and willingness to represent the greater good of the SD 19 constituents. I am eager to continue fulfilling those expectations. I plan to move forward quickly in the areas of education, the economy, health care, housing, transportation, environment, and measures to help middle-class families succeed, just to name a few.”
Jeff Bridges (D-Greenwood Village) also won reelection and is looking forward to serve again.
“Thank you so much to the people of Senate District 26 for electing me to continue serving in the state Senate. My opponent ran a hard race, and our win today would not have been possible without the hard work of our staff and volunteers and the support from our donors. I look forward to continuing my fight for the Colorado values of opportunity, independence, and responsibility as we work to stop the spread of COVID and get Coloradans back to work.”
