Upcoming Town Hall Arts Center Season

Local theater company Town Hall Arts Center has a busy 42nd season with a variety of shows coming up, and this is your comprehensive guide to seeing some spectacular live theater!

Jersey Boys

Run: September 6 – October 6

This Tony Award-winning jukebox musical follows the story of the rise and fall of The Four Seasons, showcasing their humble beginnings as four kids from New Jersey. Told in a documentary style, the show covers the effects of coming from the wrong side of the tracks and shooting to fame unlike anyone could have ever dreamed. It’s running for a full month, so there’s plenty of time to catch this heartwarming (and heartbreaking) story on the stage!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Run: October 18 – 20

This show is a cooperative effort between Town Hall Arts Center, the Littleton Symphony Orchestra, and Voices West—These groups come together for three nights only this Halloween season to tell the haunting story we all know and love of the fabled bell-ringer of Notre Dame. It’s going to be slightly different than the other shows on this list, as it’s not being held in the Town Hall Arts Center but rather at Littleton United Methodist Church.

Cannibal: The Musical

Run: October 25 – November 3

Coming from Trey Parker, co-creator of South Park and now co-owner of Casa Bonita, is a new musical that follows the story of famed Colorado cannibal Alfred Packer. Packer (who has a dining hall in his name at CU Boulder) and his gang of miners get stranded in the Rockies while on the search for gold and glory, and while some predictable events ensure, you may be surprised by the outcome of this infamous cannibal’s story.

Miracle on 34th Street: The Musical

Run: November 22 – December 29

A holiday season classic taken to the stage, Miracle on 34th Street tells the heartwarming story of a skeptic and her daughter on a mission to discover if Santa Claus is real. Follow Doris and Susan Walker on a tear-jerking holiday story unlike any other, and experience the magic of Christmastime through song and dance!

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike

Run: January 17 – February 9

A new musical inspired by the works of Anthon Chekhov, this Tony Award-winning play unravels the inner workings of family bonds when Vanya and his adopted sister Sonia welcome their movie star sister Masha and her brute boyfriend Spike home to the family farm. Hilarity ensues, and this play is sure to be a riot for anyone who has ever experienced what it’s like to have siblings to fall back on.

‘night, Mother

Run: February 28 -March 9

This mysterious play is darker in tone than the others on Town Hall Arts’ run so far—It follows the story of a mother and daughter working through depression and suicidal thoughts over the course of an evening. For the drama lovers among us, this is for you. Watch with caution, as this play contains harrowing themes.

Once

Run: March 28 -April 27

A love story told through music, a Czech woman meets a down on his luck Irish busker, and through fate and a piano, the two begin to fall in love with both music and one another. An adaptation of the film of the same name, this lively musical is sure to have something for everyone. It runs for a month, so there’s plenty of time to witness this vibrant and warm musical for yourself!

On Your Feet!

Run: May 23 -June 22

To wrap up the 42nd season of Town Hall Arts, we have another jukebox musical that tells the story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan, a young couple from Cuba that took the music world by storm with their Latin sound. The tempo is high-energy, full of love and laughter, and a refreshing story that everyone is sure to love.
