Universe responds to desires when you’re aligned

In the metaphysical philosophy of The Science of Mind, which I teach to high school teenagers on Sunday, we speak of prayer as a “mind treatment,” or affirmative prayer.

It is not beseeching, begging or bargaining.

In fact, it’s not even asking. It is an acknowledgment and acceptance of what is already the truth and then simply allowing that truth to be the reality of our lives. The process is that all the work of affirmative prayer is done in the mind of the one praying. It is very much a way to demonstrate the old expression, “Change your thinking, change your life.”

There are fives components to this type of communication with your Source; recognition, unification, realization, thanksgiving and release.

When we teach it to the youngest metaphysicians we use the first letters of each word – r-u-r-t-r – to form a question; “Are you ready to receive?” In our teen curriculum over the past couple of weeks, that question has loomed large in discussion our ability to imagine and create the life we desire – and – deserve.

I am very clear that the Universe responds to my desires in direct relation to my alignment; my congruence.

What does that mean?

It means that I am ready to receive when everything I think, feel, say and do is in alignment with my own integrity. My favorite definition of integrity is, nothing missing from the whole. So, when there is nothing missing from the whole of who I claim to be, in my thoughts, words, feelings and actions, then I am in alignment – and – the Universe supports the flow of Life through that conduit of integrity.

Knowing that there are the four holistic components to every aspect of my life, the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical, I find that I can apply each component in analyzing where my thoughts, feelings, words and actions may be out of tune. Alignment is very much like tuning an instrument; experimenting with the variety of vibrations and resonance to find the correct one.

The beauty of a well-tuned self will most definitely result in the same kind of harmonious manifestation. So today, I invite you to ask the question, “Are you ready to receive?”
