Trump’s Niece Fears for Ukraine Post-Election
Donald Trump’s lesbian niece Mary Trump often speaks out against her uncle and president-elect, especially in regards to his position on Ukraine. Mary Trump has been a staunch supporter of Ukraine and has lauded their efforts and retaliation against Vladimir Putin’s invasion of the country.
The war in Ukraine has passed 1000 days now, and as her uncle is now the future president, Mary fears for the future of the country. Trump has alleged pulling the United States’ support out of the conflict, after Ukraine has made itself a formidable force with the U.S. and European Union backing it. Without that support, Mary fears that they may be in trouble.
“The fate of Ukraine and Zelenskyy may rest with Donald Trump, Putin’s puppet, a man who is enamored of and beholden to the very autocrat who wants to destroy our ally.” She calls Ukraine’s supporters into action, saying that we must continue to support Ukraine however we can, even if a Trump presidency may take away governmental support. “We can start by saying to my uncle, ‘Go f**k yourself,'” she says.
She has been vocal about not supporting her uncle for the duration of his campaign, and has lauded Kamala Harris’ efforts. After he won, she was shocked, stating that she thought we knew better. She also claims that it will be worse than 2016 when he first was inaugurated.
“There aren’t words to convey effectively how devastating it is that the American experiment has failed … to find that tens of millions of us are completely sanguine about the repercussions the rest of the world and future generations now face because of this violent, reckless decision.” As with Kamala Harris, and many others opposing Trump, she highlights that we must continue the fight as we are faced with the fascism and oppression that has been lurking for a long time.
