Trump Hints He May Not Run in 2024 if Health Worsens

As a collective exhale for many Americans who endured his first four years in office, Former President Donald Trump hinted that he may not run for president again in 2024, despite months of saying otherwise.
In an interview with Real Clear Politics, Trump says his health might prevent him from taking another swing at politics, though he didn’t press the brakes on his continued rhetoric on the “rigged” election that prevented his win, even though there is (continually) no credible evidence that this happened and multiple reports confirmed Biden won the election without interference.
He spent a good amount of the interview bumbling around his same talking points, why he wants to return to the political stage, and full insistence that he may run. When the reporter asked the question differently, if there was any reason he wouldn’t run, Trump replies with no brevity, “Well, one reason could be your health. You get a call from your doctor, and that’s the end of that. That stuff happens; you hope it doesn’t. I just had a medical, just had great result. You never know, there are many things can happen; politics is a crazy world. It is a big commitment of you, your children, your wife, and your family.”
Former First Lady Melania Trump said she has no interest in returning to a life of politics. It’s not much of a surprise, given the ongoing joke online that Melania likely never thought she would end up in the White House to begin with, seemed entirely unhappy through the term, and never quite took full reins of the role.
However, Trump says if he did run, he would return with a revised slogan: “Make America Great Again, Again.”
It sounds like it was borne out of a writers’ room for political satire, not unlike most of Trump’s term and bumbling quotes, which would be hilarious in a show like Veep. Unfortunately he’s serious, and this is reality.
Hopefully Trump’s comments will be limited to these interviews going forward, circling around the same points he already has for months like a dog chasing his tail, and he stays the fuck out of the 2024 race.
