This Weekend’s Happenings in Denver
Whether it’s online or socially distanced, there are happenings on the horizon for this coming weekend, July 9-12. For folks who want to beat that face and be seen, we got some killer events you need to know about. However, if curling up on the couch, cracking a cold one open, and tuning into a livestream sounds more appealing, there are plenty of options for you, too.
We have put together the ultimate list of Denver things you need to know about.
HomeWERK: A Drag and Comedy Show
This Zoom event goes live on July 9 from 8 p.m. to 9:30 pm. Organized by Jackie Steele Comedy, this evening will feature Allusia of the Abbey’s Lip Service, Jackie Steele, the producer of Clown at the Comedy Store, and Samantha Hole, the producer of Ruthless People at Mile High Hamburger Mary’s. At just five bucks a ticket, you can get a full evening of entertainment and help support comics unable to do live gigs due to the coronavirus.
P.S. The event is free to folks who work in the service industry.
Knew Conscious Gallery
This livestream event on July 11 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. titled ALIVE art installation will feature music from guests Trent Campbell, Sam and Sarah, and Sarah Mount. Located in the RiNo Art District, Knew Conscious Gallery activates inspiration within the community and awakens creativity through artistic expression. The gallery also hopes to host socially distanced happenings later this month and donations are appreciated.
Lost City Live
For socially distanced, in-person happenings, Lost City Denver hosts outside intimate live concerts in the series Lost City Live, featuring local Denver artists. Reservations and tables need to be reserved beforehand, yet no need to BYOB because food and drinks will be available for purchase. Lost City Live specifically seeks artists and music producers from the metro area in support of the independent music scene such as queer, Denver-based artist The Still Tide.
Zeppelin Station
Celebrate summer vibes with happenings at Zeppelin Station with food from vendors OK Poke, Vinh Xuong Bakery, La Role Urban Colombian and spirits from Dandy Lion Coffee and Kiss + Ride. From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., there’s room for safe, socially distanced dancing to the DJ’s cultivated playlist. Parties of six to eight can reserve trendy, new, private geometric domes, or folks are welcome to enjoy the 80 person capacity extended patio.
