Denver Zoo’s biggest party of the year, Flock Party, returns this Saturday, August 22. And with the zoo celebrating 130 years, they’re going all out, packing the afternoon with animal experiences, live music, food, cocktails, fashion, and plenty of surprises throughout the space. 
Flock Party isn’t the kind of event where guests stay in one place. The flamingo-themed celebration stretches across the zoo, with something happening around nearly every corner. Guests are encouraged to join the flock themselves, dressing in colorful, tropical, and fanciful looks fit for the party. 
Animal lovers will have plenty to choose from, with dozens of experiences scheduled throughout the afternoon. Guests can watch crocodile and Komodo dragon feedings, catch demonstrations featuring elephants and tigers, and hear keeper talks about animals ranging from sloths and penguins to giraffes and African wild dogs.
One of the coolest Flock Party exclusives is that some of the animals become the artists. Live painting demonstrations throughout the afternoon feature stingrays, rhinos, raccoons, pot-bellied pigs, and giraffes as they create their own works of art right in front of guests.
Then there are the flamingos.
From 6 to 6:30 p.m., the Flamingo Parade Walk will bring some of Flock Party’s appropriately feathered residents into the celebration; it’s one experience guests won’t want to miss.
The animals may be the stars, but they aren’t the only ones getting attention.
Food and drinks will be available throughout the Zoo, but there is plenty more to explore between animal experiences. Guests can stop for live fashion sketches and chalk art, or add a little extra flair with face painting, hair tinsel and glitter tattoos.
Guests are encouraged to dress in colorful, fanciful, tropical, fashionable, and, most importantly, ready-to-have-fun attire.
Behind the cocktails, music and flamingos is the heart of Flock Party: supporting the animals. Proceeds from the fundraiser party will support the animals that call Denver Zoo home, the people who care for them, and conservation work beyond the Zoo’s gates.

Flock Party takes place Saturday, August 22 at the Denver Zoo. The Flock Star VIP admission begins at 2 p.m., plus VIP only locations, animal encounters, and especially made for VIP Star drinks and dishes.
General admission will begin at 3:30 p.m.
This event is open to guests 21 and older.
