This November, Denver Feminist Chorus Presents ‘Sing It Loud’

This holiday season, Denver Feminist chorus (DFC) celebrates queerness with a concert! They will be out in the community with their new production, Sing It Loud: Queer Joy Is Resistance. Through songs that center on self-love, praise, and authenticity, they are bringing there message to the masses. This November concert will serve as a powerful reminder the LGBTQ+ community is still here and is not hiding. This concert is a great opportunity to connect with the community and celebrate each other!

The Denver Feminist Chorus is a multigenerational treble chorus dedicated to musical excellence and community building while advocating for social justice. DFC owes its existence to a group of brave lesbian singers who risked their livelihoods to create a safe space for intersectional singers and feminists in 1984. Now the choir has almost 200 voices who are dedicated to the safety and inclusion of women in arts spaces.

With a mission of “building community through music,” the Rocky Mountain Arts Association (RMAA) choruses have entertained audiences throughout the greater Denver metropolitan area and Colorado Front Range communities for 40-plus years. RMAA serves as the umbrella organization for The Denver Feminist Chorus and the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus, representing the oldest and largest LGBTQ+ performing arts organization in Colorado.

Sing It Loud: Queer Joy Is Resistance takes place in Denver on Saturday, November 8 at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. at the Elaine Wolf Theatre (350 S. Dahlia St. Denver, CO 80246). The concert returns Sunday, November 16 at 4:00 p.m. at Wellshire Presbyterian Church (2999 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, Colorado 80222). The performances at the Elaine Wolf Theatre are in partnership with the Mizel Arts and Culture Center.

You don’t want to miss this opportunity to celebrate, sing and have fun, ticket prices range from $23-28 (including fees). For more information and to purchase tickets, visit denvechoruses.org
