Theater Lovers Beware: Broadway is Coming to Boulder

Exciting news incoming for all the lovely theater lovers! Broadway is coming to Boulder, Colorado, all thanks to: Out Boulder County.

We will get to experience Cabaret on the Rocks and witness the outstanding talent of Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning Latrice Royale. Royale is a music director and artistic director at the Tony Award-winning Eugene O’Neill Theater John McDaniel (Bonnie and Clyde, Catch Me If You Can, Annie Get Your Gun) and is best known for playing the role Phantom in Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera we have the star Hugh Panaro and Miss Congeniality three-time contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race. 

Out Boulder County, one of the state’s most supportive LGBTQ+ nonprofits. has a mission to make sure all the theater lovers are included and part of the show. Cabaret on the Rocks will be a wonderful time featuring Broadway show tunes, drag, and dancing. The show will be a thrilling time for everyone, especially for anyone part of the LGBTQ+ community. The representation and love will make this a safe and welcoming space for all who wish to attend. As a theater lover myself, I know the collective of people will be fascinating, intriguing, unique, fun, and humorous.

This fabulous event will be at the Boulder Theater on April 12, and the show will begin at 8 p.m. The MC will be our very own Jordan Chavez, the weekday morning anchor at 9NEWS in Denver. All of this has been made possible thanks to the kind support from Boulder residents Greg Hansen and Jeff Bernardy. As a theater lover himself, Bernardy says: “Cabaret on the Rocks is my way of combining my love of theater with my compassion for the multitude of people in my life that were impacted by the AIDS epidemic”. So not only does this event hold entertainment value, it holds compassion and loving intentions.  I hope this encourages you to come get away and have an enchanting time with the community at this wonderful event.
