The top 5 spots everyone living in downtown Denver should know about

Kelsey YoungBy Kelsey YoungApril 11, 2013Updated:June 1, 20263 Mins Read
Do you need happy hour cocktail to wash away the Monday blues? Or is it a Friday night and all you want to do is put on your dancing shoes? The great thing about living in downtown Denver, at a place like 2020 Lawrence Apartments, the walkability of all of these things is not only doable, but it’s incredibly fast and easy. So pick what type of night it is for you, then find the perfect place to spend your evening.

Wash Away Those Monday Blues

Marco’s Coal-Fired Pizza, located only two and a half blocks from 2020 Lawrence St. offers a great happy hour starting at 3 p.m. The atmosphere gives off a fun, relaxed vibe and with a great staff to take care of you. Sit back and forget about your day. The $3 drafts and $5 specialty cocktails pair perfectly with the Lemmoncello Chicken Wings or tasty Meatball Sliders.

Get Over The Hump in Hump Day

Wednesday’s seem to drag on for some of us because you’re well into your week and nowhere close to the weekend. If you need a great meal you don’t have to cook, stop by ignite! located between 21st and 22nd on Larimer Street. ignite! offers delicious food that will take your mind off your busy week. Try the Man Candy for an appetizer and the mouthwatering Mac & Cheese served in a sizzling skillet for your entrée. The best part about ignite!: every Wednesday’s all entrées are $6.99 for lunch and $9.99 for dinner. Oh, and what is Man Candy you might ask, you’ll just have to go and see for yourself.

Thursday Night Escape

Need a refined Thursday night to yourself or a fun place to take that special someone? SIP Fine Wine & Spirits hosts a free wine tasting every Thursday and Saturday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Try wines from all over the world and learn from the experts that work there. Who knows, you might even find a new favorite to take home with you.

Put On Those Dancing Shoes

Don’t ever rule something out because it’s not quite walking distance from where you are.  Tracks is only 1.5 miles away from 2020 Lawrence Apartments, which is just a quick five-minute cab ride.  Make sure to wear something you are comfortable dancing in because Tracks always has something going on. Who are we kidding? Make it werk and be fabulous! From local entertainment to some of the nations hottest DJ’s you’re always sure to find something new and different.

Simmer Down Sundays

If you are looking for a great place to be the icing on your cake of a weekend, visit The Lobby located on 21st and Arapahoe. If you don’t feel like an Alaskan Omelet with seared salmon, caramelized onions, cream cheese, and basil pesto then try one of their delicious stuffed burgers. If it’s a nice day outside, sit on their outdoor deck and if you have one, bring your furry family member. This is just a snippet of all of the wonderful restaurants and bars that are waiting for you to explore them when you’re in downtown Denver. And residents at 2020 Lawrence can always either ask any of the team members or visit the interactive touch panel located in the lobby.
