¡Hola, hola, hola! One of the most acclaimed series in the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise is officially returning.
World of Wonder made the announcement earlier this week that the second season of Drag Race España will premiere March 27 on WOW Presents Plus. The show will air in its home country via ATRESplayer Premium.
Following España’s inaugural season, which saw Carmen Farala crowned as the winner, audiences will see 12 new caliente queens sashay down the runway and compete for the title of “Spain’s Next Drag Superstar.” The show’s format will remain the same, but this time around, there will be a brand-new set and Werkroom for the queens as they battles it out in photoshoots, artistic challenges, and musical performances.
It was also confirmed that Supremme de Luxe will return to host, and she will once again be joined by fashion designer Ana Locking, broadcaster Javier Calvo, and actor Javier Ambrossi on the judges panel.
The fierce competing queens include:
Ariel Rec (33), Madrid
Originally “introducing” Drag Race to Spain through reviews and recaps on her YouTube channel, Ariel is a creative queen who is both competitive and a perfectionist, talkative and contested, and won’t back down in the face of injustices. Coming in prepared with tons of wigs and costumes, Ariel is very versatile and creative, and even makes her own cosplay. She is one of the best known drag queens in Spain.
Diamante Merybrown (25), Madrid
An LGBTQ activist, Diamante sings, acts, dances, and has a killer lipsync. A social butterfly that can do a perfect death drop, she has lived in the Dominican Republic, Spain, Germany, France and Australia; and says she has the flavor of the Dominicans, the strength of the maños, the discipline of the Germans, the class of the French and, the eccentricity of the Australians.
Drag Sethlas (30), Las Palmas
Sethlas is the only drag queen of the Drag Gala of the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria who has won the throne twice. A very conceptual drag queen, one of her main sources of inspiration comes from religion. With a modern and sexy style, Sethlas has become well-known in the national drag scene as a great dancer with a very dynamic and cheerful personality.
Estrella Xtravaganza (25), Barcelona
Estrella Xtravaganza is quite talkative with a great sense of humor and tons of energy. She is known for her beauty, art and grace.
Jota Carajota (18), Madrid
Jota is the kind of person that nobody wants to stop looking at or listening to. According to the queen, “No one is more diverse than me. I am a gypsy, bisexual, trans-non-binary, Martian drag queen and folkloric person.” Talkative, unique, and talented, we cannot to see Jota’s stunning and very personal style.
Jurji Der Klee (31), Brussels
Not only does Jurji sing and dance, but she can act, sew, and perform. Having been selected for both the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and to perform at Madame Arthur in Paris, she is a very special drag queen with a great sense of humor, and a style that goes beyond the norm.
Marina (34), Barcelona
From Barcelona, Marina began doing drag four years ago, but has been making a living entirely from it for the past three. She wants to show a non-binary type of drag, and her character is based on femme fatales, murderous women, thieves, and spies.
Marisa Prisa (28), Lugo
From Lugo, Marisa is a designer, but is currently working as an administrator. Formerly living in Madrid, she had to return to her village to work in her father’s fish company. She has been doing drag for two and a half years.
Onyx (33), Madrid
Onyx is very creative and striking, mostly known for her alien drag. With a rare and unique fantasy aesthetic, she sashays towards a very striking type of underground beauty that is inspired by magical creatures, animals, and aliens.
Samantha Ballentines (35), Cadíz
Samantha is an Andalusian Comedy Queen with a quick-wit and competitive personality. She is the drag mother of The Macarena, a queen from Drag Race España Season 1. She says that she has come to Season 2 to claim the site of San Fernando (Cádiz) in Drag Race since The Macarena was the first to be eliminated in her season.
Sharonne (45), Barcelona
Sharonne is a professional on the stage. She can act, sing, dance, and she has a comical sense of humor. Her drag inspiration is 70s and 80s diva, complete with Hollywood elegance and disco shine. Sharonne loves to stay busy and throughout quarantine, launched a TikTok with classic celebrity impression videos to keep herself entertained.
Venedita Von Dash (30), Madrid
Venedita Von Dash is a showgirl who knows how to captivate her audience. She is loud and domineering, but has a sensual side thanks to her burlesque shows.
