Target Under Fire By Conservatives (Again)

Target, is under fire yet again after conservatives clash with the company over rainbow Christmas decorations.

The rainbow seems to be the arch nemesis of conservatives, as this past summer, they took it upon themselves to destroy pride month sections of Targets across the nation.

This recent controversy, however, involves, more specifically, nutcrackers. To push the matters even further, they are sure mad about Santa Clause being depicted as black and in a wheelchair.

Now, the problem with nutcrackers and the conservatives being mad about them holding Pride flags is that the creator of the Nutcracker ballet is a gay individual himself.

Fox News, the famous conservative outlet, put their two cents of the situation. “Despite the media portrays of how politicians are voting, this doesn’t represent the overwhelming majority of this country, really the world, feels on this issue.” Quite the stretch of a statement, if we’re being real.

The reality is that the average shopper only pays attention to the things that they find interesting within their aesthetic tastes.  If Pride flags are interesting to these conservatives, then maybe a deeper reflection of who they truly are might be needed.

The attention to detail with right-wing folks has shown to be super inaccurate and straight up-creepy. A few months prior to this issue, they were upset at Target for allegedly selling “tuck-friendly swimwear to children,” which is creepy considering that anyone else could care less about that specific area on a child. If bathing suits for children are built that way, it is likely to help keep things in check during play time, not make for a drag-friendly swim outfit.

Bigger issues definitely dominate today’s society other then nutcrackers that will be on the clearance item come the day after Christmas, but conservatives beg to differ.

These issues have caused further harm rather than doing anything of service for anybody, really. Pride month saw Target having to pull Pride items from their shelves due to the childish behaviors of conservatives. Many of these items also included products made by queer creators.
