Supreme Court denied appeal to halt same-sex marriages in Oregon

June 5, 2014
An appeal made by the National Organization for Marriage to overturn the Oregon ruling allowing gay marriage was denied by the Supreme Court June 4.
The appeal was made to Justice Anthony Kennedy, who referred the request to full court, where it was denied.
This appeal was the only legal procedure left in the way for full marriage equality in the state, as the state officials agreed with the original court ruling the same sex marriage ban unconstitutional.
It’s finally official, congrats Oregon!
