Superbia Stands Up For The Queer Community

The queer community faces discrimination within the financial industry every single day, and it goes unnoticed. Currently, it is legal in most U.S. states for financial institutions to let gender identity or sexual orientation influence their decisions on giving loans or credit cards, and according to a recent study by Iowa State University, same-sex couples are 73 percent more likely than heterosexual couples to be turned down for a mortgage.

That’s where Superbia Services comes in, a new financial marketplace for the LGBTQ+ community with a mission to eradicate discrimination and accelerate equality. Earlier in July, Superbia launched Superbia.org, the member organization, and single point of access to all Superbia products and services as they are brought to market. 

Since the launch, members and allies of the LGBTQ community have had the chance to become a part of the new era, joining a mission that drives LGBTQ equality forward. The hope of the founders is that Superbia.org will grow quickly to become the point of access for all Superbia products as they are brought to market, including Superbia Credit Union which, pending approval, will be opening its virtual doors this fall.

That is where Superbia Services Inc., the organization delivering equal treatment of LGBTQ persons in financial and other fundamental services, comes in.

The Superbia mission is to accelerate the economic and social equality of the LGBTQ community and to eradicate the discrimination members of the LGBTQ community encounter in banking, life insurance, health insurance, and money management. Superbia will provide these services to the community in an affirming and welcoming engagement.
