Submission Possible: Kinky New Series by Madison Young

Submission

Rihanna said it best: “Sticks and stones may break my Bones, but chains and whips excite me …”

Forget your luggage bags and your COVID masks. Jump into bed in your favorite sleepwear, cozy up with your favorite beverage, and place your toy(s) that give you the biggest sensation at your side. Get ready for an orgasm-packed, queer kink adventure, exploring the country’s finest kink, fetish, and sex-positive cities through lens of feminism.

Each episode features a new kink in a new city, leaving you to desire more each time. In the exclusive feminist docuseries Submission Possible, Madison Young, the “Queen of Kink,” takes viewers on a trip around the country seeking out  the kink, fetish, and sex-positive scenes that makes that city exceptional. This empowering series seeks to discover the common threads among all kink communities while honoring what makes each so unique.

Madison Young first entered the world of erotic filmmaking and studies in 2002. She has since directed films, written books and scholarly articles, taught workshops, and given lectures at prestigious universities such as Yale and UC Berkley. Young is the founder of  Erotic Film School, a three-day, intense training program held in San Francisco, CA. This course initiate students into the pre-production, concluding with the final film production of  erotic films.

Young has been highlighted for her work in feminist pornography as well as queer activism. Young’s work has been mentioned in feminist porn books, pleasure websites, magazines, and in books written by prominent journalists. It comes as no shock that Young has earned six “Feminist Porn Awards” and was awarded “Best BDSM Release.” Madison Young is the guru, the holy grail, and indeed, the queer pioneer of feminist, erotic pleasure.

Now that we have recognized a handful of Young’s accolades, let’s dive into the world of kink, fetish, sex-positivity, and this inspiring series. As explained in the series, kink is play. Play is owning space where kink and BDSM fulfills needs and desires. It’s the movement of creating pleasure. It’s the sensational sensual exchange of power to bliss. It’s surrendering to a huge rush of exploding emotions. Kink is intuitively exploring your body and its surroundings. It’s the process of discovering erotic tension and submitting yourself to it. Kink is empowering erotic energy, as a body has no boundaries. Young fearlessly states, “Kink is not what you do, it’s a movement.”

If there is one thing the patriarchy hates, it’s women taking control and ownership of their bodies, and kink allows women the space to do just that. Adios male gaze; boy bye! Young brings voice to the revolutionized kink scene, changing it to a liberating space for queer women. Young’s Submission Possible series teaches viewers that BDSM, kink, fetish, and sex-positive scenes are ultimately about breaking traditional and outdated perceptions that exist in society surrounding sexuality and communicate desire through touch.

Through the eyes of feminism, Young enlightens viewers that the power structure in the kink scene is no longer structured and rigid; it has transformed into a fluidity between the dominant and submissive. Women are now empowered to use their body in the way they want to tell their story of desire, lust, tension, release, power, and submission.  With feminist insight, Submission Possible attests kink is about stimulating soulful exchanges of power and pleasure while exploring the woman’s body and erotic desires in the way the woman wants. The woman is in complete control of her body and using it the way she wants to express and obtain her erotic desires for no one’s gaze or pleasure but her own.

Submission Possible is insightful, discerning, empowering, and inspiring to all queer women and their intersectionality. It builds community and silences the voices of shame and isolation. Young is a master filmmaker and host in Submission Possible, as she creates community and all encompassing belonging for everyone in the kink community. Furthermore, she and the docuseries lights a fire to scorch the voices of shame, indignity, and isolation that unfairly creep into the desires and exiles one from exploring their bodies and needs.
