Stay Home Silent Disco to Raise Money for COVID-19 Relief
With restrictions still tight in Colorado and COVID-19 cases back on the rise, it seems that concerts and clubbing won’t happen anytime soon. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t dance the night away in the comfort of your own home while helping raise money for local organizations with a virtual silent disco. Join Tyler, the Creative tonight for the Silent Disco #2.
This event is a free and virtual concert event that has three channels for attendees to alternate between. Each channel will feature a different artist who is raising money for a different COVID-19 and/or arts nonprofit in Colorado. Through a private donor, the event will be raising $1 for every view that the three streams get up to $10,000.
Drum ‘n’ bass DJ Sinistarr, will be spinning a set for one of the three channels. This prolific DJ is well-known in the underground music scenes and will be raising money for the Artists of Color Fund. Set up in response to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis which has disproportionately impacted communities of color, this organization gives micro-grants to BIPOC artists in Colorado.
Erin Stereo, who was recently named Best House DJ by Denver Westword, will be DJing on the second channel. Her set will be benefiting Youth on Record, a music program supporting at-risk youth in Denver, which has transitioned to virtual platforms since the pandemic, making their education more accessible.
On the final channel will be Boyhollow, of Lipgloss fame, who has been credited for creating Denver’s indie-dance scene and co-founding America’s longest running indie dance party since 2001. His set will benefit Rocky Mountain Music Relief, which provides financial and in-kind support to individuals, groups, and organizations within the music industry that have been impacted by the pandemic.
Register for tonight’s event here. We hope to see you all at their on the digital dance floor!
