Ski and snowboard the Colorado slopes in style

This ski and snowboard season promises to be one of the raddest yet, thanks to a stylish new lineup of ski gear. Of course, the better you are at maneuvering the runs (or trees, as the case may be), the better you’ll look. However, great new gear will only make your tricks look that much better. This season, plaids, denim and really bright colors will have you doing a 180 when checking out the hotties. Imagine the tail grabs now! The most important thing is to choose apparel based on your own unique style and what will encourage you to have fun day after glorious day.

Plaid is in
The Mannual Cube Insulated Jacket from 686 ($190) will keep you warm while keeping you hip. It features a 100-percent nylon oxford outer shell and a cozy lining to provide heavenly body
insulation (yet with underarm vents to avoid overheating). The two- or three-color blocked body with sewn horizontal stripes will also make you stand out in the crowd.
The faux-denim effect
We all love denim, and the Limited Destructed Denim Insulated Pant from 686 ($250) looks great both on and off the hill. Key features include five-pocket jean styling; contrast stitching accents and an engineered photo-realistic vintage denim print. Just don’t pair them with the Reserved M-65 Jacket unless you want the 1980s denim-from-head-to-toe look.
A neon pop
Medio Neon sunglasses from Mountain Shades ($20) are a great way to sport some slope style. Try them in a range of colors for some added pop to your outfit.
Warm the core
The North Face Men’s Dobre Vest ($99) emulates cowboy style with its snap chest and hand pockets, so you’ll fit right in whether on the street or on the hill. It’s also water-resistant, insulated for warmth and reversible from two-color to solid for added versatility.
Play safe with style
The Smith Holt Helmet ($75) and Oakley A Frame Goggle ($90) not only look great together, but they’ll also protect your gourd. A lock strap on the back of the helmet helps to secure goggles in place, and the cool turquoise color doesn’t hurt. The helmet also accepts Skullcandy, Single-shot and Plantronics Bluetooth audio systems for hands-free listening, which also is pretty bitchin’. Meanwhile, the goggles combine superior venting and antifog technology with 100-percent UV filtering. Plus, they’re available in a bevy of lens tints, and they’re just the right amount of bright that you need.
Streak the slopes in stripes
The casual and urban-chic Melbu Stripe Sweater from Mountain Hardwear ($110) provides the warmth and anti-microbial benefits of wool combined with the durability of nylon. This sweater is lightweight enough so that it provides warmth but it also will fit nicely under jackets.
