Same-sex marriage officially comes to Colorado
This morning, Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced that the stays, the last remaining legal obstacles for same-sex marriage, have been vacated. “Beginning today, Colorado’s 64 county clerks are legally required to issue licenses to same-sex couples who request them. In addition, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is required to register such marriages in the records of the State of Colorado,” said Suthers.
Suthers released the following statement:
This revelation makes Colorado the first of the states affected by the SCOTUS decision to fully legalize same-sex marriage.
