Rain or shine, art will be on display at Seven Stones throughout all seasons.
Seven Stones Botanical Cemetery partnered up with ROXArts to coordinate with Douglas County Art Encounters program for the area of Roxborough. They are more than ecstatic to announce the cemetery, the Sterling Ranch Community, and Roxborough Park Foundation will begin displaying the three new art sculptures in early June. The ROXArts Council sponsor these exhibits and this year’s sculptors encompass:
”Flower of Life” by Ashley Woods will be displayed at Seven Stones Cemetery.
“Honeycomb Monolith” by Jodie Cooper will be displayed at Sterling Ranch.
“Ravens Rock” by Mike Dwyer will be displayed at the Roxborough Park Foundation.
Becky Holm, director of customer care at Seven Stones, says, “It’s a privilege and honor to welcome this year’s outstanding sculptures to various locations in Northwest Douglas County and provide the people in our communities the opportunity to view the artwork in very unique and special settings.”
The Douglas County Art Encounters program the past few years has gained prevalence, highlighted by Dimitry Domani Spiridon’s “Wings of Freedom” sculpture, which won both People’s Choice and Judges Choice awards from the Art Encounters this year. This specific sculpture will remain on display for a few more weeks at Sterling Ranch.
Director Holm also states, “For Seven Stones, it’s yet another way that people can stroll the grounds of our cemetery and see that it is a place that truly celebrates life, whether it’s while they’re remembering the life of a loved one who has passed, or, while they’re connecting to the beauty and the ever-changing landscape of the gardens.”
The Douglas County Art Encounters projects are designed to assist in promoting the public’s interests in art to develop a sense of community to draw in visitors. These sculptures range in various media and styles to showcase art in highly visible areas throughout Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Parker, and Roxborough. ROXArt’s mission is to bring artists and community together by enriching their lives through installations.
