If you’ve ever wanted to find yourself face to face with the 6’4″ iconic mother of all drag queens herself, now is the time. RuPaul has recently published his new book, The House of Hidden Meanings. It’s an introspective memoir recounting the pop culture legend’s life, identity, and relationships. Hailed by Harper Collins as a”profound introspection of his life,” the book takes a deep dive into RuPaul’s upbringing as a poor, Black, gay kid in San Diego and spills all the tea from Ru’s life up until now.
“This isn’t the RuPaul you think you know,” states a press release from Live Nation, who is hosting the tour. The book is an evocative and inspiring story of success and described as a “manual for life” with its stripped-bare nature and poignant narrative.
This isn’t RuPaul’s first book; he previously wrote written GuRu in 2018. It is more of a life coaching, professional success, self-help book. The House of Hidden Meanings is a departure with its tell-all style and unflinching honesty. The same vein, however, runs through both books, as they’re framed to help the reader understand themself and find success in life. The uplifting message is present in both books, with RuPaul encouraging people to be themselves and search for the eponymous hidden meanings of life.
The tour kicked off February 6 in Montreal, and Ru is slated to arrive in Denver on March 11. The event will kick off at The Fillmore, and tickets are available now.
RuPaul holds the record for most Emmy Awards held by a Black person, with 14 trophies awarded, and eight of those have been consecutive awards for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program, including in 2024. RuPaul’s Drag Race itself has won 27 Emmy Awards. RuPaul was also noted one of the top 100 most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine in 2017. The most famous drag queen in the world, Ru’s contributions to the world of drag have been significant and have brought drag into the limelight and mainstream media, helping queer voices find an audience in our country, and the world at large.

I'm 25, a Libra, and an editorial intern here at OFM since December. I love writing, astrology, and beautiful downtown Denver! I am proud to share that I recently survived two years of homelessness and have overcame all the barriers that come with it. Living in my own place for the first time is scary sometimes, but nonetheless it's a testament to my own tenacity. Thanks for reading my profile!
