Robert Garcia Is Coming for Marjorie Taylor-Brown’s Seat
Mayor Robert Garcia, a Peruvian immigrant, is making his way towards Republican Marjorie Taylor Brown’s congress seat in the best way possible.
Garcia, who is an openly gay man, posted a video of NeNe Leakes in a cherry red bodysuit strutting with Saucy Santana’s song Walk to Twitter on November 11, under the caption, “As a reminder, this will be me when I walk by Marjorie Taylor Greene in the Capitol next week at orientation.”

Marjorie Taylor-Greene is a far-right supporter of QAnon who spreads misinformation like wildfire, and Garcia is going head-to-head with her. Garcia opposes the anti-LGBTQ and anti-immigrant rhetoric that Taylor-Greene pushes.
In a statement to The Advocate, Robert Garcia says, “(Marjorie Taylor Greene) is somebody that has zero interest in allowing gay people to live full lives, so I think she shouldn’t be in Congress. I think she represents exactly what’s wrong in our country.” He continued, “I’m proud of who I am and look forward to uplifting those issues, and she has got to be called out every single day for her bullshit and for the lies she tells about our community and for the harm she does against gay people and immigrants.”
Garcia believes in being aggressive when it comes to confronting republicans and far-right supporters on their spread of misinformation. Garcia says, “I’m committed to making sure that we call out the extreme Republicans, the extreme far-right conservatives that are intent on transforming our country into some Trump authoritarian place that is not welcoming for most of the people of the country.”
Being both gay and an immigrant, Garcia fights for the rights of marginalized groups and the spread of truth.
