Rainbow Kitten Surprise Fundraiser for Louisville Pride

Rainbow Kitten Surprise, a Nashville-based quintet, celebrated Pride by releasing a new version of their song “Hide.” The new version of the song was captured during a live performance of the song in Athens, Georgia. There is also a new music video that was released alongside the new track which features the band performing the new track live. The original track’s music video featured a documentary style video of four drag queens living in New Orleans. The video provided a voice and representation for LGBTQ people living in the South.

In addition to the release of the song, Rainbow Kitten Surprise is also encouraging their fans to donate funds to the Louisville Pride Foundation. The foundation is looking to raise enough funds to open an ADA compliant LGBTQ Community Center based in Louisville, KY. The community center will be a safe space for all members of the LGBTQ community and will host events, programs, provide services and resources, and more. The foundation hopes to raise $20,000 for the community center, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise plans to help in meeting their goal.

The band has offered exclusive Pride merch including t-shirts, socks, a vinyl record slip mat, and a Pride bundle. Partnering with PLUS1, all of the proceeds from the Pride merch will go directly to the organization. There is also an option for fans to make a direct donation to the Louisville Pride Foundation.

The Louisville Pride Foundation is based in Louisville, KY and is focused on providing a safe an inclusive space for people within the LGBTQ community. They seek to strengthen the unity between queer people and straight allies by allowing space for a conversation about what brings them together as one while also acknowledging and celebrating differences. A portion of their proceeds also goes directly to local youth programs, helping to strengthen the ties to their community and supporting the next generation.
