The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) hosted the fifth Psychedelic Science Conference at the Colorado Convention Center June 16–20, 2025. This is Colorado’s second year hosting the conference.
The week was full of speakers, panel discussions, events, activities, and activations. In a press release, MAPS.org share, “Programming will explore the full spectrum of psychedelics, including science, medicine, policy, business, spirituality, and culture.” One of the speakers was Governor Polis who announced new pardons for those convicted at the state level of possessing psilocybin or psilocin.
“Founded in 1986, MAPS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research and educational organization that develops medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana.” Colorado and Oregon are the only two states that have legalized psilocybin.
OFM was one of hundreds of vendors who had a booth in the exhibition hall. We published our first psychedelic issue, Fungays and Fairies, in September of 2024, and we plan to make it a yearly tradition to have September as the Psychedelic issue.
