Leave Life Behind with Oompa’s New Song, “Go”

Giving us that Gemini season energy, Boston rapper and spoken word poet Oompa debuts a vibey, new track that is hot with funk, mood, and swagger. “Go” featuring Dan DeCristofaro has a hook that pulls you in, as you get lost in the soulful love song.
“This is the love where you slap red tinted glasses on, and all red flags look like surrender. We know it will end in flames, or with us having to return to the reality of our lives and our city-girl hustle, but for now, we go. We get lost and hope reality doesn’t find us,” Oompa says.
The intersectional artist chooses not to focus on just one facet of her identity, as the intricacies are woven into her art, her inspiration, and her presence. Oompa features friend and frequent collaborator Therlande Louissant as her love interest in the music video for “Go,” as the pair embrace a cinematic styling reminiscent of a retro, cult-classic film.
As the first rollout release of Oompa’s upcoming EP, Unbothered, “Go” is but a glimpse into the catchy, upbeat, and sultry feelings we can expect to see more of. Oompa’s doing something big with her retro aesthetic paired with her reinvention of what we love about current pop music.
