Only Human Hosts Virtual Panel on QTPOC Anti-Racism
Only Human, a female and queer-owned company that is aiming to make the world a better place by celebrating our commonalities is hosting a virtual panel event focusing on racial justice in transgender communities.
The virtual panel, which will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at 5:30 p.m. MST, will be led by transgender leaders across varying racial identities. The panelists include Jari Jones, Devin Norelle, Samy Nour , and Younes Figaredo. Through virtual conversation, they will discuss what anti-racism looks like for white transgender people, as well as what it means to ask for solidarity as a transgender person of color. The entire event will be moderated by Trystan Reece.
In their description, Only Human asks, “Online and in person, trans people of color are asking for bolder acts of solidarity from the rest of the trans community and beyond. But what does that really mean? What does anti-racism look like for white trans folks, and what does it mean to ask for solidarity as a trans person of color?”
In the LGBTQ community, it’s incredibly important to highlight the hierarchy of privilege that stands within our group. Recognizing it is a step towards racial equality.
