While renovating his first home, Kevin O’Connor never would have imagined becoming a part of a well-established and successful home improvement television show. After running into quite a few problems, O’Connor sought the expert advice of PBS’s “Ask This Old House” team. Tom Silva, general contractor on “This Old House” and “Ask This Old House,” soon arrived at O’Connor’s doorstep to find the right solutions to his home improvement hurdles. A few months after his guest appearance, and much to his surprise, the “Ask This Old House” team called O’Connor to offer him a hosting position on the show. O’Connor made the transition from financial expert to Emmy Award- nominated television host and has arrived at his decade milestone. Beginning his first season on “Ask This Old House,” O’Connor had one goal in mind—to accurately represent the crew’s work and show everyday homeowners that old problems can be repaired with innovative solutions.
O’Connor plans to discuss his experiences with “This Old House” and “Ask This Old House” at the Denver Home Show. Catch him on the IKEA Lifestyle Stage Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15. Additionally, audience members at O’Connor’s presentations will have the opportunity to win a Festool Cordless Drill set, valued at more than $400.
