OFM Gallery: Zeds Dead Backyard Jamboree

Every 4th of July, Denver celebrates two holidays: Independence Day and Zeds Dead Week. For the last 10 years, the powerhouse electronic duo has descended upon the Mile-High City for musical greatness. What started as one night at Red Rocks has now become two nights at the legendary venue, a festival called The Backyard Jamboree on the actual fourth, and an afterparty at Mission Ballroom where Zeds Dead play two sets (that’s five sets in three days if you were counting).

While each event has a distinct flavor, the Jamboree is the most lively and joyous. Everyone frolicking around Civic Center Park under the sun (the weather was perfect this year), trying their hand at activities like the dunk tank and big wheel races, watching Zeds Deads’ own Hooks paint live graffiti, cheering on voracious contestants at the annual hot-dog-eating contest, and, of course, dancing to music at three different stages.
