OFM Gallery: Waxahatchee at Mission Ballroom
In case you missed it, Waxahatchee stopped by Mission Ballroom on Thursday night to play through their most recent album Tigers Blood. OFM had the chance to swing by to hear songs, both old and new.
To kick off the night of groovy tunes, Melbourne-based band Good Morning played a handful of their songs. They invited up many friends throughout the set to enhance the performance and get the energy flowing! Shortly after they exited the stage, Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) took the stage playing “3 Sisters.” She tossed her ball cap into the crowd for a lucky attendee to take home.
In addition to her own songs, she played a few songs from another project, Plains, a country duo featuring herself and Jess Williamson. The members of the audience who were not standing near the barricade were dancing in their own groups, do-si-doing each other around. If you have been yearning for a night of folk music and great energy, make sure you catch Waxahatchee next time she is back in Denver.
