OFM Gallery: Maggie Rogers and The Japanese House at Red Rocks
OFM had the chance to attend the sold out Maggie Rogers and The Japanese House Red Rocks show. The Japanese House kicked off the night singing a handful of their songs. The crowd was especially loud during their songs “Touching Yourself,” “Saw You In A Dream,” and “Sunshine Baby.” She was sporting a shirt that read “I love my hot wife, please stay away from me” for her fiance, whom she mentioned during her set!
Rogers started off her set with track one of her third album, “Don’t Forget Me.” During her song “So Sick of Dreaming,” she swapped her lyrics from “and by the way … the Knicks lost” with Denver’s recently eliminated Nuggets. She played through the first four tracks as if to play the album in full, but then switched up the setlist to play a fan favorite song, “The Knife,” off her first album. The crowd was singing word for word, with Rogers many times letting them take over.
The rocks lit up during “Light On” as the audience used both phones and lighters to bring the song to life. She owned the stage the whole night, showing off her incredible vocal talent and sharing her songs with the audience. Rogers came back the next night for a great run at Red Rocks, and we hope she returns soon!
