OFM Gallery: Denver Holiday Market for Gaza at Town Hall Collaborative

Gaza

The Denver chapter of the Party for Socialism and Liberation took this holiday season as an opportunity to educate people on and advocate for Gaza with a vendor market and fundraiser for the Middle East Children’s Alliance, a nonprofit humanitarian aid organization that engages in direct and financial aid to support children in the Middle East, including those living in the Palestinian territories.

The Denver Holiday Market for Gaza was held at Town Hall Collaborative, a mixed-use gathering space that frequently lends its space for holiday events and vendor markets, and more than 30 businesses and vendors participated. The event also featured a speaker, Miriam Osman, an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement, and the market raised over $4,000 for the MECA, according to Eliza Lucero, an organizer for Denver PSL.

“Dozens of local vendors participated, from bakeries to vintage sellers and tattoo artists all donating their proceeds to this charity,” Lucero says. “Beyond a fundraiser, this was a beautiful display of community coming together to support our own small businesses while also supporting the children in Gaza.”
