Nebula Hosts Kick-Off Event May 24

On Friday, May 24 Nebula is launching their kick-off event at the Museum of Black Girls from 7pm to 2:30am that will include an afterparty featuring live music, a DJ, poetry, and more.

Nebula is described as “the next nexus of Womxn-led BIPOC events” that “specializes in curating safe social spaces and community outreach. Our primary focus is uplifting queer folks of color.”

The event invites guests to “a captivating evening at the Museum for Black Girls with our Sapphic Neo Soul Pop-Up! Live music from talented Sapphic musicians, delicious bites, curated cocktails, and powerful poetry await. Join us for an intimate celebration of culture and community, followed by an exciting after-party to keep the vibes going.”

Tickets for the Sapphic Neo Soul Pop-Up range from 15$ to 25$ and can be purchased here. Tickets will be 30$ at the door.

The multifaceted artist NASSHA will be the DJ for the after party. Their ultimate goal as a DJ/Producer is to “create a sonic experience that transcends time and resonates with the listener on a deeper level.”

Singer-songwriter, producer, and musician Saridae will also be preforming at the upcoming event. She is described as an “innovative artist who is able to balance storytelling through melodic, sultry vocals, and rich live instrumentation”.

With Pride month right around the corner, Sapphic Neo Soul Pop-Up may be the perfect start to the upcoming celebrations happening in Denver all June. And with this start up event, Nebula hopes to spread the word about their organization and further connect with the local queer and BIPOC community.

You can keep an eye out for upcoming workshops and panels that will focus on “initiating meaningful conversations with queer BIPOC elders and youth, offering comfort, advice, and community support” (these events will be held after Pride to ensure Nebula maintains visibility amidst the Pride festivities).
