Meow Wolf Denver to Celebrate First Birthday With Block Party
Where does the time go? While it feels like Convergence Station has been a staple of the city’s creative scene for much longer, Meow Wolf in Denver is turning 1-year-old!
Denver’s Convergence Station is one of three Meow Wolf locations, and it’s already been a year since it first opened. The Convergence Station is an art installation showcasing four different worlds within four floors, featuring more than 79 installations and 110 local artists. Meow Wolf is known for their otherworldly interactive art, labyrinthine mysteries, portals, wormholes, and sophisticated technology. The immersive art installation has been a big success in Denver and accomplished plenty in its first year.
More than 1 million people have visited Convergence Station this year. Those visitors include Halsey, Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Reggie Watts, Bob Weir, and Lance Armstrong.
Meow Wolf gained their own notoriety in Denver. The Convergence Station won the Tourism Star Award from VISIT DENVER and an Art & Business Partnership Award from the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts. Meow Wolf also contributes back to the Denver community: Meow Wolf has invested more than $615,000 into 150 of Denver’s diverse arts organizations.
Not only have they hosted performances in their concert venue but Meow Wolf has also participated in various Pride events in Denver.
To celebrate their “Convergiversary,” Meow Wolf is throwing two block parties—a day and a night party—on the same day that they opened last year, September 17.
Their Day Party is open to all ages starting at 10 a.m. The purchase of a $15 timed admission ticket to the Convergence Station gives visitors access to an artist village filled with surprises. The Night Party is a 21-and-over party, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and doors will open at 9 p.m. The night is jam-packed with performers and a DJ. The tickets are priced at $99 and can be bought on the Meow Wolf website.
