Meow Wolf Denver recently announced that their outdoor music festival Vortex is back for its second year. The immersive multimedia art space which opened in Denver in 2021 recently announced the return of their outdoor festival with electronic music artist GRiZ and singer/songwriter Remi Wolf headlining the event for this year. Recently, GRiZ announced he was headlining the festival at a surprise show he played at the JunkYard in Denver, which is also the venue where the festival takes place. Other artists playing at the festival include Claude Vonstroke, Mindchatter, TOKiMONSTA, Armani White, Blond:ISH, Brownies & Lemonade All-Stars, and Shady Jones.
GRiZ will be playing on both Saturday and Sunday nights at the festival. His second night is billed by the festival as “Chasing the Golden Era.” This might imply that the second night will be focusing on his series of four mixtapes under the name Chasing the Golden Hour. Regarding the “Chasing the Golden Era” show, GRiZ said on Instagram that he was “excited to bring this to ya.”
The artists booked certainly seem hyped for this year’s festival. Korean-American record producer TOKiMONSTA released a statement saying, “I’m beyond excited to be playing Vortex this year! I’ll be coming through with a special set for a special festival.” That excitement is mutual, as Senior Director of Events at Meow Wolf Marsi Gray expressed similar anticipation. “Come out to The JunkYard and play with us this year. Denver has such a vibrant community, and we are excited to dance with you!”
Additionally, the festival will also have “chill zones” for fans to hang out in. Also, it will have a multi-genre lineup of artists and art exhibits in the typical immersive style that Meow Wolf has come to be known for. The general sale for tickets begins at 10 a.m. MT on Friday, April 21 at the official Vortex website.
