Matthew Shepard Foundation presents ‘Love Can Build a Bridge’ choral tour

The Matthew Shepard Foundation welcomes the arrival of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus to Colorado, with performances on July 12 in Laramie and July 13 in Denver.

The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus is the world’s first openly-gay chorus and the focus of the tour is about reaching out and connecting with people.

“In my work as an activist and as an ally to the LGBT community, I try to remind people that their voice is their powerful tool to erase hate in our society,” founder Judy Shepard said.  “I can’t think of an organization that more literally embodies that philosophy than the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus.”

The tour will benefit the Wyoming Equality and University of Wyoming Spectrum, a student group in which Matthew Shepard was a member. The groups support the LGBT communities and families of Wyoming.

LARAMIE CONCERT:  8 p.m., Thursday July 12 at the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Concert Hall. Tickets are $30. More info.

DENVER CONCERT: 7:30 p.m., Friday July 13 at St. John’s Cathedral, 1350 Washington Street. Tickets are $15-$40. More info.
