Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns kicked off the spooky season on September 22 with over 7,000 hand-carved pumpkins and a whimsical light show. Operated by the Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, the event has quickly become a staple Halloween attraction in Denver, much like the Thirteenth Floor Haunted House itself.
For its third year, Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns will be held at Hudson Gardens where visitors will follow an outdoor trail on their adventure into the magical world of jack o’lanterns. The event is for all ages so it is perfect for any configuration of people: friends, families, date nights, co-worker events, and so on. Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns runs through October 31 on select nights throughout the spooky season. Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, in partnership with Star Alliance, will also be offering a sensory-friendly night on Sunday, October 8.
With over 7,000 hand-carved pumpkins on display and more lights than you can count, there is sure to be something eye-catching for everyone. One integral piece visitors won’t want to miss is the dazzling Ferris wheel with passenger cars chock full of pumpkins. Past favorites include displays featuring carvings of classic works of art such as the “Mona Lisa,” “American Gothic,” and “The Scream.”
Visitors will recognize famous faces of athletes, celebrities, and beloved characters carved into the pumpkins. Classic scenes of dinosaurs, pirate ships, and dragons abound throughout the gardens. Chris Stafford, CEO of Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, says that the 2023 run of Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns will “(bring) you all of the Halloween magic, including some never-before-seen installations!”
For those worried about getting hungry along the way, Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns will have several local food trucks on-site, providing a variety of quick eats. And for 21-plus guests looking for some boozy fun, vendors will be serving spooky-themed alcoholic beverages for those so inclined. Merchandise vendors will also be present on site for anyone looking to get their hands on glow-in-the-dark toys, memorabilia, and more.
Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns tickets are on sale now at magicofthejackolanterns.com. Prices start at $14.99 for kids and $19.99 for adults, with free admission for children two and under.
