London Trans+ Pride March 2025 is Largest Trans Pride in History

London Trans+ Pride (LT+P) gathered at Langham Place, London on Saturday, July 26 and set records as the largest transgender pride march ever. LT+P was established in 2019 in response to rising transphobia in the U.K. The march serves as a “means to carve out a space for our community to make ourselves heard, to be unashamed and unafraid, and to be celebrated and honored as an act of resistance in the face of hatred and fear.”

The trans-led, community-first efforts emphasize inclusivity and maintain that transgender and queer liberation is intrinsically linked to racial justice, disability justice, and economic justice. The march maintained its yearly calls for critical action, including: a total ban on conversion therapy, fully funded gender-affirming healthcare, shorter waiting times for trans patients, and legal recognition for nonbinary and intersex people.

Speakers at the Pride event included Heartstopper actress Yasmin Finney, Eddie Suzy Izzard, Munroe Bergdorf, and others. Actress and activist Jameela Jamil says, “The trans community are leaders in freedom, passion, solidarity, and, frankly, fun. It is in the best interests of our society to uphold and protect them.”

Transgender activist and model Munroe Bergdorf stresses: “With British trans people facing so much uncertainty… It’s essential that as many of us as possible take to the streets in protest, to show our pride and that we will not be erased, shamed, segregated, or forced back into the margins.”

London Trans+ Pride is the world’s largest annual demonstration in support of trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and intersex lives.

Organisers of LT+P and people who marched in the event noted that the parade was incredibly vital in the aftermath of the Supreme Court ruling in April, when judges said the words “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 refer to a biological woman and biological sex.

Approximately 40,000 additional people joined London Trans+ Pride as compared to last year. Bobby Harding, fundraising lead for London Trans+ Pride, says about the turnout: “It’s so clear how much it’s needed and how much it’s wanted.” He continues, “It’s a total honor to be part of history like this because this is now the largest Trans Pride event in history, in the world.”

“We are more determined than ever to show up and let people know that we deserve a place on this earth, and we are entitled to dignity and privacy, as is our human right.”

The resounding message is clear: The transgender community and their allies will not be silenced, marginalized, or erased. Love, solidarity, and resistance will only continue to grow.
