LoHi Pride returns this June for its third-annual event, boasting a three-day festival at the Monkey Barrel in Sunnyside with a packed list of 16 music artists set to play on June 16, 17, and 18. If the music wasn’t enough, LoHi Pride will also host OFM and Q Publishing House’s newest book release!
The celebration was first started by music artist Sarah Christine, restaurant owner Andrew Tyler, and publisher of LoHi Lifestyle Magazine Stefani Walker. Prior to 2019, when the first event took place, there was no large-scale Pride event in the Lower Highland and Highlands neighborhoods in North Denver. While Tyler has since stepped back, Christine and Walker continue carrying the torch as this year’s festivities near.
The event is perfect for music lovers, starting with an indoor evening of singer-songwriters—including Brooke Delgado, Chandra DeSantis, Canyons Echo, and Pedro Meyer—from 4 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. Get ready to rock out on Friday, with performances from NepCali, The Losers Club, hellocentral, and Bury Mia from 4 to 8 p.m. The festival closes out Saturday with an all-day celebration from 12 to 8 p.m., featuring Jamison Murphy, Amy Martin, Britt Devens, Tyler Sjostrom, Lyons & Co., Taylor Tuke, and Sarah Christine, with Elektric Animals to wrap up the evening.
We’re also especially excited for LoHi Pride—The festival is supporting OFM and Q Publishing House in our newest book release, The Queerest Touch, a collection of short stories by our own Brian Aragon-Shafi Byrdsong. Byrdsong will also be at the event as his drag alter ego, Shamy Lee, to MC a portion of LoHi Pride. We’ll also have books available on-site to purchase all three days of the event!
Tickets are available on Eventbrite, with one-day, three-day, and VIP three-day options available. VIP three-day tickets will receive one Lift Vodka drink per day along with the ticket, along with a change to win a bottle of Lift Vodka signed by Lance Armstrong and a signed t-shirt from all the peforming acts.
“Love is love,” a festival release reads. “The 3rd Annual LoHi Pride Music Fest will go down in the record books, and they can’t wait to do it all over again next year.”
Don’t miss out on this stellar celebration of music and all things queer, Denver!
